Hiatt is a co-founder of the Kentucky Student Voice Team and the Operations Partner. Since founding the team as a junior in high school, he has served in a variety of capacities including Communications Director and Associate Student Director. As the Operations Partner, Hiatt is responsible for the operations of KSVT including communications, technology, and business operations. He also supports the student leadership team and advises on vision, mission, and programming. He also serves on the board of directors.
Throughout his time with SVT, Hiatt helped lead 2015 legislative campaign to add students to superintendent screening committess, helped lead the 2016 successful #PowerballPromise campaign to restore lottery-funded need-based scholarships, was the Publishing Editor of Ready or Not, co-directed the March For Our Lives KY Teach-In & Rally at the state capitol in 2018, and organized the SVT's fifth anniversary gala.
Hiatt is currently a Master of Divinity & Master of Public Policy student at the University of Chicago where he is studying the intersection of policy, justice, and faith. He is pursuing ordained ministry in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kentucky. Hiatt is a 2017 graduate of American University where he studied politics and communications and a native of Lexington.
