Bio

Always keeping a water bottle in hand, Connor Flick (he/him) is an undergraduate student at Brown University studying Computational Biology and expecting to graduate in 2026. Growing up in Northern Kentucky, he has been infatuated with computers for his entire life, occasionally breaking them in his pursuit to understand them. Connor was indirectly exposed to the concept of student voice and advocacy throughout his K-12 career, acquiring an affinity for education justice after experiences on local student councils left him disillusioned with most student leadership efforts. Connor formally began his journey with the Kentucky Student Voice Team at the height of the pandemic in May 2020, joining the Coping With Covid project to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis along with producing, disseminating, and delivering many of the early reports and presentations later that year. Since then, Connor has continued to support the research, operations, and advocacy branches of KSVT, helping with and leading several projects such as Save Our Seats, ARPA Funding, The Co-Creation Generation, Race to Learn, and even appearing on a few episodes of the Get Schooled podcast. In doing this work, he came into the position of Cross-Organizational Coordinator during his senior year of high school, ensuring the team remained steadfast and effective in its mission to create more just, democratic schools for Kentucky’s young people. Today, Connor serves as an adult member of KSVT’s board, seeking to continue KSVT’s commitment to its mission while assisting with the internal operations of the team. When not tinkering with computers, cells, or social institutions, Connor finds joy in climbing, fencing, napping, reading Wikipedia articles, and having too many tabs open on his computer.
