Announcing the Kentucky Student Voice Team

Today, after eight years of fruitful partnership, the Prichard Committee Student Voice Team becomes the fully independent Kentucky Student Voice Team.

Our mission is the same—to position Kentucky students as education policy, advocacy and research partners to ensure our schools are as equitable, engaging, and excellent as they can be.

From Fulton to Fayette to Floyd, we aim to amplify the voices, experiences, and struggles of ALL Kentucky students. We speak truth to power, collaborate across differences, think critically, question often, and fight for education justice.

We will have much more to share in the coming months. In the meantime, if you are a middle or high school student in Kentucky seeking to address justice in your classroom, school, or community—connect with us. We’d like to hear from you.

The Kentucky Student Voice Team is a statewide organization of young people who are co-creating more just, democratic Kentucky schools & communities as research, policy & advocacy partners. From 2012 to 2021, KSVT was incubated at the Prichard Committee, a nonpartisan, citizen-led organization working to improve education in Kentucky for all ages.
